History

March Air Reserve Base, located in Riverside County, California was established as a military training base in 1918 and formally recognized as an Air Force Base in 1947. The approximately 6,500 acre base was designated for realignment in 1993 by the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission. As a result, over 4,400 acres of the base became available for private development. The property was transferred in 1993 to the March Joint Powers Commission which was formed by the local jurisdictions to implement its reuse.

The Lewis Group of Companies and Waypoint Property Group, in a venture named Meridian Park, LLC, acquired the development rights and became the Master Developer in late 2015. The venture will continue the development of Meridian Business Park in four (4) more planned phases bringing positive economic impact to local communities and the overall region.

At completion, Meridian will be home to 16 million square feet of building space and create up to 15,000 jobs boasting some of the top tier companies and businesses in the world.
